How to Join the Nigerian Navy as a Graduate

When we talk about how to join the Nigerian Navy as a graduate, it simply means how graduates can be able to join the Nigerian Navy with their qualifications. You may be wondering the reason why they look alike but it’s simple. The Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Army are the members of the armed forces of Nigeria and they are all under the Chief of Defence Staff. But when you look at them very closely, you will also understand that there are some differences too. For example, in the Nigerian Army, there are two types of commission which is meant for the graduates which are the DSSC and the SSC.

How to Join the Nigerian Navy as a Graduate

The DSSC means Direct Short Service Commission while the SSC means Short Service Combatant commission. In the Nigerian Navy it’s just the DSSC.

For you to be able to join the Nigerian Navy as a graduate, there are some requirements you need to meet. Below are the requirements needed to join the Nigerian Navy Navy as a graduate.

Requirements to Join the Nigerian Navy as a Graduate

  • You must be a Nigerian as defined in the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria. and also be between the Age of 22 and 28 Years at the time of registration.
  • Be medically,Mentally and physically fit.
  • Measure not less than 1.68m(Male),1.65m(female)
  • Must not have been convicted by any Court of Law
  • Possess a minimum of first of not less than second class lower division from a recognized university or HND from a recognized polytechnic and not less than lower credit.
  • Applicants Less Serving members of the Armed Forces must have completed their NYSC Scheme or provide a letter of exemption.
  • Possess valid birth certificate endorsed by A hospital Court or National population commission.
  • Possess a certificate of State of Origin.
  • You must be recommended by at least two recognized referees who must attest to the applicants character and Integrity
